Android users residing in countries other than UK, France, Brazil and Ireland will soon be allowed to download gambling apps on their phone. So, by March 1st Android users in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden and United States will be able to find and download real money gambling apps provided by Play Store.
As far as the US is concerned, the types of games allowed to play through the apps will be online casino games, lottery and sports betting, which vary depending on the state and the gambling legislation in each one of them. As for the rest of the countries, players will be able to place bets on online casino games, sports betting, lottery and daily fantasy sports. Underage gambling will be prevented by developers’ safeguards.
The privacy policy will be slightly changed in order to allow ads on promoting real money gambling. All apps must be free to download and comply with all applicable laws and industry standards. The developers must also have a valid gambling license for every country the app is distributed.
This idea will benefit both gamblers and licensed operators, while the latter will use all the technology they have to properly create an app on the store, and the former will no longer have to be asked to download the app from the website.
Get ready for March 1st!
