Dogecoin is now accepted by Tesla

We all know Elon Musk is linked to the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, through the reports and memes he posts on his Twitter account, and has significantly helped increase its value over the past year.

Last December, Elon tweeted that Tesla would add Dogecoin as an option for payments.

On January 2022, he kept his promise and now the popular electric car manufacturer added Dogecoin as an option to buy a merchandise. Specifically, Tesla sells a Cybertruck-shaped whistle that costs 300 doge or about $59. Another accessory that DOGE fans can buy with 835 DOGE is a belt buckle dedicated to Gigafactory. Finally, the Cyberquad electric hog for children can be purchased for 12020 doge or about $2.320. In fact, Dogecoin is now the only option for buying these items, since the option for cash is no longer available on the Tesla website.

Of course, the value of the cryptocurrency went uphill. After Tesla made this announcement, DOGE skyrocketed 15% and exceeded $0.21.

It is worth mentioning that Dogecoin mining consumes less energy and Musk had even stated that he and his developers are working together for it to become even more efficient in the future.
