Amazon denies the Bitcoin acceptance

Amazon denied on Monday the acceptance of Bitcoin as a payment method, which was said to happen by the end of 2021.

The world’s largest crypto currency went up by 14.5%, before dropping to $35.000.

A spokesperson of Amazon commented: “The speculation about our plans for the future are not true. At this time, we are just exploring what this whole thing would look like for Amazon customers”.

On July 22nd the company posted a job opening for a blockchain and digital currency product lead.

Multiple companies worldwide have already started accepting crypto currencies as a payment method, plus, last week, Elon Musk, announced that Tesla will most likely start accepting bitcoin again, once the required energy for mining is much less than before.

A source added that Amazon wishes to develop its own token, once the “big” cryptos are integrated.
