500.com, a Chinese gambling company now acquires Blockchain Alliance Technologies Holding Company. The latter owns the BTC.com domain name, and the deal includes:
“The transfer to the Company of the entire mining pool business of Bitdeer Technologies Holding Company (“BitDeer”) operated under BTC.com, including the domain name BTC.com and the cryptocurrency wallet of BTC.com” (collectively, the “BTC.com Pool Businesses”).
The 500.com company is traded publicly on the NYSE, with a market capitalisation of $1 billion and like a lot of other domains, does not resolve unless you add the “www.” in the front.
