Bitcoin’s price gains ground after Sunday’s drop

Bitcoin has been gaining ground in the last few hours, seeking to regain some of the lost ground after Sunday’s sharp drop.

According to the cryptocurrency exchange Coindesk.com, the price of Bitcoin at around noon on Monday formed around $57.000, having fallen even below $54.000 at the weekend against the historic high of $64.800 in the middle of last week.

The rest of the cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, saw a decline, with several analysts attributing this development to reports that the US Treasury Department may tighten control over cryptocurrencies in order to combat money laundering.

Other estimates contemplate that the decision of the Central Bank of Turkey to ban the use of cryptocurrencies in the local economy had a negative impact.
